Catherine Bushby
Catherine Bushby is a highly respected educator and Co-Department Chair for Language Arts and Literature at Radcliffe Creek School, where she has taught since 1998. With her passion for literature and drama, she has inspired generations of students to become confident readers and empowered learners. Her extensive experience includes acting as a Department Head since 2000, directing 43 plays at the school, and co-writing the curriculum for the Language Arts and Literature departments.
Catherine's educational journey began at James Madison University, where she earned a B.S. in Communication Arts. Prior to her career at Radcliffe, she spent a decade in New York City working in publishing and records management before shifting to education. Returning to the Eastern Shore, she directed children's theater productions in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties from 1991 to 1998, laying the groundwork for her return to the classroom.
Her dedication to her students and her craft has earned her recognition, including being featured in a January 2016 edition of What's Up Eastern Shore magazine as an inspirational leader in the classroom. Outside of her professional life, Catherine enjoys reading, is an avid college basketball fan, and adores spending time with her seven grandchildren.
