Colin Orr P '27
Colin Orr is the Marsh Lead Teacher and English Department Co-Head at Radcliffe Creek School, bringing extensive expertise in language arts and literature to his students. A distinguished graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Summa Cum Laude B.A. and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing, Colin combines a deep understanding of literary arts with specialized skills in educational best practices, including his Bowman's Orton-Gillingham "Plus" Program certification.
Since joining Radcliffe Creek School in 2018, Colin has become an integral part of the community. He has taught a wide range of subjects to students in grades 4 through 8, including Literature, Language Arts, Reading, and Visualization and Verbalization. In 2022, he was named the Marsh’s Lead Teacher and took on the role of co-head of the English Literature and Language Arts department. Prior to his tenure at Radcliffe, Colin taught at various public and private schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His commitment to professional development is further highlighted by his participation in prestigious writing retreats and conferences, including the Kenyon Review Writing Retreat for Educators, Colgate Writers' Conference, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. His creative pursuits also include having his fiction published in the literary journal Blackbird.
