Jacquelynn Simon
Jacquelynn Simon is a highly skilled ELA and Orton-Gillingham (OG) teacher at Radcliffe Creek School, with a profound passion for helping students, particularly those facing learning challenges, become confident and successful readers. With over three decades of experience in education, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of literacy development to her students. Her training in the Orton-Gillingham and Visualization and Verbalization programs equips her with structured, multisensory methods to support both decoding and comprehension, fostering critical skills for all her students.
Jacquelynn earned her Bachelor of Science in Regular and Special Education and her Master of Education in Language, Literacy, and Learning, both from the University of Delaware. Her career journey has taken her through various roles, including teaching grades 1-2 in regular and special education, owning a yarn shop where she taught knitting and spinning, and working as a Client Relationship Manager at a financial advising firm. This diverse background has cultivated a patient, joyful, and hands-on teaching style that she now applies in the classroom.
Beyond her literacy instruction, Jacquelynn excels at building strong, meaningful connections with her homeroom students, creating a warm, family-like classroom community where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged. After taking time away to raise her children, she is thrilled to have returned to her lifelong passion for teaching at Radcliffe Creek School, where she has found a true home and a shared dedication to helping students thrive. When she is not teaching, she enjoys knitting, pottery, reading, triathlon, and paddleboarding.
