Margie Barilar is a dynamic and multifaceted professional who brings a wealth of experience, discipline, and passion to her roles as Front Desk Coordinator and Registrar. Her storied career began with a solid foundation in business, spanning 36 years at Dixon Valve and Coupling Company, where she honed her skills as a buyer of raw materials. During her tenure, Margie’s dedication was evident in her commitment to continuous learning, earning certificates in Leadership Training, Lean Purchasing, Lean Manufacturing, and Blue Print Reading. Her involvement in her community also shines through her work as a Character Counts Coach at Garnett Elementary for six years. In her current role at Radcliffe Creek School, she effectively leverages her extensive background in purchasing and inventory management to oversee office operations and bookkeeping, ensuring a smooth and organized environment.
Beyond her corporate and administrative expertise, Margie is a highly decorated martial arts master and a passionate instructor. As the owner and head instructor of Eastern Shore Isshinryu Karate School, LLC since 2013, she teaches students critical skills such as problem-solving, gross motor skills, coordination, and respect. A 7th-degree Black Belt in Isshinryu Karate, she was appointed to the Board of the United States Isshinryu Karate Association in 2021 by her instructor, Phil Little. Margie's dedication to her craft and students has earned her numerous accolades, including multiple "Instructor of the Year" awards from the World Head of Family Sokeship Council and first place in a kata competition at the Isshinryu Hall of Fame tournament. The Kent News also recognized her business as the "Best Martial Arts Business" in 2024. Her passion for martial arts extends to her personal life, where she enjoys freestyle swimming, kayaking, and art. Her ability to seamlessly transition from a successful business career to an inspiring martial arts leader and educator makes her an invaluable asset to any organization.
